On the campaign video for his feature film “Man-child,” Ryan decided to clone himself and play two characters, or rather be himself and then play an evil version on himself. He labeled himself a dreamer and his evil counterpart, a dream crusher. On a blog post on his Nofilmschool.com, he detailed how he accomplished the trick, which was immensely helpful to me. It turned out to be very straight forward, but what caught my attention was that he mentioned that it was something we all knew how to do, at which point I thought that I had no clue how to accomplish the effect, and that it was in my best interest to learn it. It also put in perspective the content that he offers on his blog, because he offers insight on a lot of the technical aspects of film production. I suggest to those of you don’t already, to follow him very closely. For those of you who, like me, were in the dark about this particular effect, I have embedded it below. Enjoy!!!
