Record & Movie Labels Accused Of Criminal Activity
September 26th, 2007 | by Bloddard |It is understandable that RIAA and MPAA industries want to protect their businesses by cracking down on piracy and making it so difficult, that simply buying the CD, or DVD would seem like the simplest option; but their latest actions prove they have sunk to a new low.
The torrent tracker, The Pirate Bay has announced that leading record and motion picture labels have practiced illegal means to sabotage and compromise its infrastructure. Methods that include hacking and spamming have been used and legal action has been taken. Some of the companies that have been reported to the police are; Twentieth Century Fox Sweden AB, Emi Music Sweden AB, Universal Music Group Sweden AB, Universal Pictures Nordic AB, Paramount Home Entertainment Sweden AB, Atari Nordic AB, Activision Nordic Filial Till Activision (Uk) Ltd, Ubisoft Sweden AB, Sony Bmg Music EntertainmentSweden AB and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Nordic AB.
