Film festivals are an excellent way to learn about the film world. One gets to meet and greet filmmakers as well as enjoy their films, and, have access to people “high up in the food chain” as they say; potentially making connections and building friendships that can be useful to you in the future. A lot of these festivals are frequented by producers that most of the time are out scouting new talent. Also, some festivals host seminars and Q&A sessions that are very insightful.
