In a list ranking film directors from best to worst, Brett Ratner would undoubtedly be placed on the bottom half, at least. However, unlike many of the greats, Ratner’s generosity is pretty evident as he is currently offering one hundred tuition grants of up to $15,000 for the New York Film Academy. At the moment, the grant applies to one and two year programs as well as Masters of Fine Arts (MFAs). Applicants must prove their need for financial assistance and must submit an essay explaining why they would like to attend NYFA. Howard Stern Film Festival

The one and only Howard Stern launched his very own film festival with the hope of giving filmmakers the freedom they don’t get anywhere else, the freedom to say anything they want. Fans and filmmakers get a chance to submit five minute short films that creatively interpret Howard Stern story lines. The winners get cash prizes and their films will be featured on Howard TV on Demand.
