The American Berlin Opera Foundation Scholarship

The American Berlin Opera Foundation is holding a competition for aspiring American singers to study at the Deutsche Oper in Germany. The competition is for American citizens and permanent residents between the ages of eighteen and thirty who have completed their schooling and are starting their professional careers.

Winners receive $15,000 and round-trip plane fare to Berlin, Germany to start his or her training with the Deutsche Oper, from August to June. During the ten month trip, students will be offered roles in Deutsche Oper productions for which they will be paid. Applications are available on the foundation’s website, by requesting them via E-Mail or by writing to the address at the bottom. The application deadline is February 1, 2007.

Become A Music Mentor

On my previous post, Giving Back: Little Kids Rock, I talked about The Little Kids Rock Music Foundation and how it has changed children’s lives. I encouraged everyone to get involved, to give a little of themselves, for an excellent cause.

One of the many ways you can get involved with Little Kids Rock is by becoming a music mentor.

Becoming a music mentor is one of the most personal ways to get involved with Little Kids Rock. Full time educators in the public schools are eligible to be trained as Little Kids Rock music mentors.
