HD 2600Pro AGP: A Done Deal

August 21st, 2007 | by Bloddard |

According to Fudzilla.com, ATI HD 2600Pro AGP Video cards are set to be on sale in September. They will sport DDR2 memory and will come in both 256MB and 512MB versions. Prices are said to be very affordable and they will be great for Home Theater PCs because they’ll include UVD, HDMI and DirectX10. Hopefully these Graphic adapters will at least have comparable performance to ATI’s X1950 PRO and Nvidia’s 7950GT.

TheInquirer.net reported back in February that Nvidia’s 7600GS AGP card was going to get a DirectX 10 follower, code named G84 AGP. “The AGP version is possible due to the fact that G84 chips are pin-to-pin compatible with Geforce 6600 and 7600, so there were no modifications required in order that AGP market gets its DirectX 10 card.” This card was supposed to be released in April, but it is now August and the Nvidia DirectX 10 AGP video cards are not available.
